Karwienskie and
Bielanskie Blota are just south of Karwia, on the border of Krokowa and
Wladyslawowo. The picturesque meadows of Karwienskie Blota
are the remains of Dutch settlers who came to live there in 16th century.
They dried the once-swampy area, leaving an excellent drainage system.
From June to
September you can treat yourself a helikopter ride from Tupadly (near Jastrzebia Gora). Trust me - it's really worth it. The
spectacular scenery is unforgettable...
Bielawskie Blota - called 'Bielawa' is a flora reserve which stretches
to the south. There is an abundance of unique plants, for example
cloudberries which is under the protection. Apart from that, there is also a
wide variety of game, birds in particular. The turn of August and September is
the best time to admire the beauty of this place as moors are in bloom.
Sometimes you can notice a fiery glow over Bielawa. If you start a fire there,
then it takes many days to put it out. It is difficult to be in control of the
fire in the peat meadows - so tourists are kindly requested to be careful.
In 1978 Nadmorski National Park was established which stretches from Bialogora,
through Hel to Mechelinek, including The Puck Bay.
Places of interest:
The castle of Krokowa
The grottos of Mechowo
The power plant in Zarnowiec
